Perfect bedside lamp

Fits nicely on my bedside table right by the plug point. The fish and flowers look so pretty when it's lit, and it's bright enough to read by.

Love the colours

The reds, oranges and greens are so vibrant. Brings a lot of warmth to a plain white room.

Elegant and cheerful

Manages to be both. Looks great on my work desk on video calls too.

A little piece of Odisha at home

Grew up around Patachitra and this design does it justice. My grandmother loved it.

Beautiful, handle the shade with care

Lovely lamp. The light shade picked up a small mark while I was setting it up, so use clean hands. Otherwise no complaints.

Well made

Solid ceramic base, neat shade and a sturdy cord. Worth the price.

Anniversary gift

Got this for our anniversary and my wife loved it. It's now on her side of the bed.

The craft

Not printed. Painted.

Painted by hand
Every line, by brush. Nothing printed.
8–10 hours
of brushwork on every shade.
Cotton & ceramic
Cotton shade on a matte ceramic base.
Patachitra art
From the painters’ villages of Odisha and Bengal.

Patachitra takes its name from patta, cloth, and chitra, picture. For centuries, painters in Odisha and Bengal have made it on cloth, with bold outlines, bright natural colours and borders that frame every scene.

Our garden design gathers its favourite motifs: fish, birds, blossoms and curling vines. We paint it by hand onto each shade, one at a time. By day it is a garden in full colour. Switch it on, and the reds and greens turn warm and glowing.

Because a person paints every piece, yours will differ slightly from the photos. That is the mark of the hand, not a flaw.
